Growing up in East Germany, Markus soon discovered the freedom a bike could give him, even as a child living right behind the Iron Curtain.

As part of Peebles Cycling Clubs on-going Jubilee celebrations the club is proud to present a series of talks commencing with Mark Beaumont.

Many of you will be familiar with Mark’s story with a string of gruelling endurance cycle records and achievements over 25 years. He holds the record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe by bike, all 18000 miles of it in an incredible 78 days, 14 hours and 40 minutes.

Gravelfoyle Gravel Riding

Following the gravel ride day out in Kielder earlier in the year why not join us for some of the famous Gravelfoyle gravel riding on Sunday September 11th at 9.30am?

We have two routes both starting in Aberfoyle, one in the morning approx 30 to 40 miles into Loch Ard forest and back to Aberfoyle for a late ish lunch.

In the afternoon for those feeling like it a shorter ride over to Loch Venachar. More details published closer to the time.

Any questions please shout and I am hopeful to coordinate some car and van sharing.

PCC Tweed-duro gravel rides

Tweed-Duro is a new adventure, exploration, social event for Peebles Cycling Club members, a collection of three routes using mixed gravel and road between the glens surrounding Peebles

Approx 30 miles / 2500 feet elevation gain, 3 hours ride time

Approx 50 miles / 4000 feet elevation gain, 5 hours ride time

Approx 70miles / 5000 feet + elevation gain, 7 hours ride time

The routes are made up of sections of Forestry and wind farm gravel road, drove road and B class roads. Expect some varied surfaces from “classic” Border tarmac, some techy single track and some fast and furious gravel descents…
