Lake Distric meet

We are slowly getting closer to the next PCC Summer Away Trip.

I have previously outlined the opportunities for accommodation etc in a previous email.

Attached are the three routes.

Ruth will be doing a shorter loop on the Saturday (15th) round Windermere. Setting off from the same car park as below. Time of setting off to be agreed closer to the time as there’s no need to set off at 8 for this one.

Those planning to do the Fred Whitton Loop. We will be starting at 8am from Lakeside Car Park, Ambleside on the 15th July.

First food stop will be at Keswick, thereafter we will be relying on Pubs and Coffee Shops. So big water bottles and lots of food are the order of the day. Please plan to be self reliant.

Typically, I have done this in 7 to 8 hours. so we should plan for 8 to 9. Please be aware that this is a tough ride and whilst we will be waiting for each other at the top of the climbs etc. please personally reflect on whether you feel up for this without holding the group up significantly.

Now there is an additional plan for the weekend.

This is for those that may have thought  the full Fred is a bit much but want to get some hills in. Sunday morning will see us set off at 8.30, same location  as Saturday with a plan to do a Ullswater, Derwent Water and Buttermere Loop. This is still a tough old day but significantly less elevation. Again, there are shops in Keswick that we can use for water and food top ups.
