Carl’s Ride

Peebles Cycling Club has recently lost one of its most loyal and well-loved characters…..Carl Lane. The club was very well represented at Carl’s funeral, and we know it meant a lot to his family, but the younger members of Kids Club would like to recognise the fantastic effect that Carl had on them. So in a celebration of his life there will be a ride at Glentress, followed by a big BBQ, and other high jinx that Carl would have been proud of.

They are planning ...a super afternoon, suitable for all members of the family, and in particular would like to extend the invitation to all who knew and loved Carl, young and old(er;-), past and present members of PCC, PHS mountain bike club, Bike patrol etc.

We will set off from the Old Hub car park at 11am, returning to the field above the Wigwams about 1pm for a BBQ and further games….sausage pie making comp, joke telling, maybe a dual slalom, and even a wee duathlon to name a few ideas. Join us at any point for some or all of the day. The ride will be suitable for all.

There will be a photo montage and story board to leave your best stories and pictures of Carl on the day or forward them to this email address.

So SAVE THE DATE…..SUNDAY 28TH JUNE….the last Sunday before the end of school term.
