Drumlanrig small group

Drumlanrig group photoThe weather forecast was so much better than last year and blue skies awaited us at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfriesshire on Saturday 17th November, when PCC Kids Club made their pilgrimage away from the artificial trails of Glentress to the “original” trail centre with miles of natural rooty trails meandering around the extensive grounds of the Duke of Buccleuch’s pad.

Local riders Ewan and Stewart were on hand to take the more adventurous riders off the beaten track and into the “Dark Side” with lots of roots, rock and mud to keep them more than happy and challenged. All did amazingly well and everyone came back with a smile on their faces.

Drumlanrig ridingPete took the rest of the group along the Red graded trail which showed off the very best of what Drumlanrig has to offer, with narrow leaf covered singletrack, man-made rolling bumps and berms and technical rocky and rooty descents which challenged all, including the mums and dads who came along for a gentle ride!

By the time we got back to the castle everyone was tired but happy and hopefully inspired to go and explore more of this fantastic venue that’s on our doorstep.
