Just to let you kow Susan completed her Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle ride today after 9 days and 987 miles of cycling.   You can do the maths but thats a lot of miles everyday.  All this in aid of her neice, Emily, who has Rett Syndrome, there is still time to sponsor if you wish:

You may or may not be aware that I am undertaking a charity bike ride this May/June from Land’s End to John O’Groats in order to raised funds for a charity that provides grants for research into Rett Syndrome (as well as lots of other childhood illnesses and conditions that are incurable and/or life limiting). Most of you who know me will probably know by now that my little niece, Emily, suffers from Rett Syndrome and this has been particularly hard for us all to take in and deal with. Robbie and Shona (Emily’s mum and dad) do the best they can for her but it is a constant battle to keep on top of all the specialist equipment that Emily requires and will continue to require for the rest of her life.

I have had a few fundraising events at work and have managed to raise almost £1500 in cash that I would like to be able to give to Robbie and Shona. However, I have to first raise £1300 for Action Medical Research and any money left over can go to Emily. The total amount I am required to raise is £2600 but £1300 of that covers the costs of me doing the trip so I am paying that myself and have already made a payment of £1000 to my website (with a further £300 to follow once I have saved it up). So this is where you might be able to help – at the moment I still need to get about £1000 of online donations to my website so that the cash I have in the house (and anymore I managed to raise through events at work) can all go straight to Emily (hope this all makes sense?!)

If you would like to sponsor me for my bike ride I would be very grateful for any donation received.  I will be cycling approximately 110 miles a day for 9 days and it would really help to spur me on knowing that I have your support behind me . Currently my training is going well although I am having some doubts about the challenge I have taken on.  Please feel free to pass this link onto anyone else you think may be interested

If you would like to make a donation and /or find out more about the Charity and Rett Syndrome please go to:  http://www.action.org.uk/sponsor/sgray

Thank you all

Love Susan
