Something a little bit different was happening in the woods on Saturday.

The PCC Kids Club met at Buzzard’s Nest car park on Saturday 28th April.  The groups quickly dispersed with their various leaders for a half an hour warm up prior to congregating at the entrance to the green loop.  Under the stewardship of Louise Waterston the kids were divided into teams of four comprising one member from each of the various kids club groups (stays, shocks, sprockets and spokes).

An informal relay race was then set off around the first section of the green loop with the oldest riders going first before “tagging” their next team member and so on with the youngest riders going last.  Once the cycling had been completed the running began.  The team captains ran four laps of a course comprising a hill climb and a descent.  On each lap they picked up and held hands with an additional team member, until on the fourth lap the entire team of four, line abreast, completed the final lap.

The racing was fun and very closely contested.  All of the kids were winners.

Refreshments for all were provided courtesy of Carl’s tea tent.

A big thank you to Carl and Louise for organising.
