Welcome to Peebles Cycling Club - SCU Club of the Year 2008
Welcome to the club that’s at the heart of
Scotland's best cycling country.
Peebles is at the centre of
the wonderful cycling in and around the Tweed valley and the Peebles Cycling
Club reflects the diversity in the area. Many cyclists will be aware of the
attractions of the Glentress complex of mountain biking trails and the
Innerleithen downhill and cross country courses, built as part of the Seven Stanes
project. We also have a network of
excellent and quiet country roads for training and touring rides.
We
have a club of over 200 members whose activities range through touring,
audax, track racing, timetrialing, road racing, cross country and downhill
MTB.
The Saturday Club Run meets at Kingsmeadows Carpark for a 9.30am
start.
In 2005 we were awarded Go Ride status by Scottish Cycling and full Clubmark
accreditation in 2008 in recognition of the thriving junior section, arguably
the stongest competing in Scotland
Once
again the club will be running the PCC Under 16 DIrt Crit series, now in its
5th year. The club aims to repeat the phenomenal success of the previous years
event, a truly grass roots experience open to all young riders who want a
taste of racing in a friendly exciting atmosphere in local Glentress Forest.
The Dirt Crit series is open to riders from 6 to 16 years of age (age on 1st
Jan
'11).
The fees remain unchanged
for 4th year running and the Club will pay the ESCA levy for British Cycling
members of the Club.
